Waste to Value: Energy & Sustainable Materials Management

Maryland is taking steps to reduce harmful emissions and looking at opportunities to turn waste to value. Sustainable waste management tied to emission reduction strategies is the focus of this session. The panel will explore best practices and innovative technologies to combat climate change and considerations that make waste to energy a viable tool, including source reduction, renewable sourcing, and waste prevention beyond traditional efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle as a means to decarbonize. Is it possible to turn trash and underused materials to energy treasure with current and evolving technologies?
